General

Specify that the postcodes should be checked but the normal practice is to exclude this.

Indicate whether the job should be sent as Postal A or B.

PostSort Preparation can generate a number of additional addresses" (print samples).

Print proofs show the maximum length of a field, which helps in positioning the layout on the product.

Choose here how many print samples to create and these will always go first in the job file.

If the field name does not cover the entire length of the field, the field is filled in with X.

If the field name is longer than the total length of the field, the entire field name is not displayed.

Blanks at the end of a field are not filled with X.

Specifies the field to be used for grouping. For example Postal code.

Specifies the logic to be used for bundling.

Equalize.

Example: 161 newspapers are going to the same post office and the bundle size is defined max=50 and min=10, the following bundles are created:

41 + 40 + 40 + 40 = 161 pcs.

If smoothing is not checked, PostSort will create as many "Max" bundles as possible.

50 + 50 + 50 + 11 = 161 pcs.

Max=Std+Min-1

To avoid having blank products in the bundle (50+10-1=59).

This means that the real Max bundle can contain 59 products.

Example: if 151 products are going to the same post office, bundles are created as follows 50+50+50+10=160.

The final bundle will contain one addressed and nine unaddressed products.

If instead Max=Std+Min-1, PostSort will instead create bundles as follows 50+50+51=151.

The maximum number of products that a bundle/box may contain is normally determined by thickness and weight.

The minimum number of products that a bundle/box may contain and normally depends on the thickness and weight of the product.
